Life of fun

Wow, today made for a long day. I woke up around nine, when the sun came up, to go shopping before I went to work. Sales on everything started today. In Spain there are two times for sales. The first is right after King's day and it lasts for about a month and the second is at the end of July I believe. I went with Matt and Lori ansd the girls. We made it to one store which was jammed pack full of crazy shoppers trying to find the best deals. I am not one for liking the crowds and was glad that I had to work shortly. Matt and I headed to the cafe while Lori finished shopping and then waited in line for 55 minutes. Now, I like sales, but I don't think I like them that much.

When I arrived at the cafe, I met Brian who was training me for the day. I went and put my stuff in the back and then found him to see what to do. Number 1 on the list was to sit down and enjoy a cup of coffee. It was a great way to start off a work day. Next, we made a list of all of the groceries that we would need for the day and then we were off to the store. We gathered the supplies rather quickly and returned to the cafe to prepare some food. We toasted some bread and made some crab dip and some tomato spread for tapas. The crab dip was really good. Then we cut up the fudge and made some more. That was my first day of work. Not too difficult and quite fun, however, I don't think every day will be this easy.

After eating lunch, I played the guitar for a little bit and then went on a walk around the city. I took several pictures and just enjoyed the sunshine and fresh air. I stopped at Parque Alameda and sat on a park bench for a while and journaled and then I headed over to the cafe. I sat on the couch in front of the window, ordered churros con chocolate and read a magazine. I found it interesting to see what the top movies and t.v. shows are here. When the cafe started getting crowded I head back home and arrived just as Lori was leaving with the girls. They were going grocery shopping and so I joined then.

So, I have been wanting to go on a run here for a while but was waiting for Matt to show me where he runs. After he put the girls to bed we went on a run. There were so many hills, not small ones either. It was a great workout and quite a challenge, but I really enjoyed the change. We ran through part of the old city and then through parque Alameda and then down and around south campus. I am so glad that we went. Upon returning we had a great meal with fresh pineapple dipped in chocolate for dessert. I think I could have eaten the whole bowl. I had to make Lori take it away from the table. I ended my evening with some crocheting while I watched a little of the Third Matrix. It seems like I had such a long day, but for some reason I am not very tired. However, I should go to bed soon. I think I might get some new shoes tomorrow. We'll see how crowded the stores are.
